My approach and the word “Hiraeth”

I approach our relationship with intention, curiosity, and I strive to show up as the most authentic version of my human self as I can be. I believe that in order to be truly present in the connection with you that I too have to do my own “work.” To me, our time together is a spiritual connection and I believe it is important to honor that.

The word “Hiraeth” is one that I connected to many years ago and I have read that it loosely translates to missing/yearning for one’s literal or figurative homeland. When I was sitting with what I wanted to name my business, this word presented itself as powerful and apt when relating it to why people often seek therapy. The clients I often connect most with can identify with the way this word shows up in their life.

“Not every story has a happy ending, ... but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption. The possibility of renewal exists so long as life exists. How to support that possibility in others and in ourselves is the ultimate question.”
