Specialties’

What does having a “specialty” mean?

Having a specialty means that I’m “lit up” by working with certain groups of people and life experiences and it also means that I’ve done some additional training in this area. It’s usually the stuff I’m learning and reading about in my spare time and feel strongly equipped to help with. The most frequent diagnosis’ I work with are trauma-related, ADHD, major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

Life transitions and overwhelm

I most commonly work with folks who are struggling in their relationships, coping with ongoing medical conditions, and making major life decisions.

Breaking generational cycles and the impact of trauma

Misattributed Parentage Stress

This is stress/grief/trauma experienced upon learning that who you perceived your biological parent to be was not. You may have learned about this through a commercial DNA test, a recent family disclosure, or some other means. I work with all folks who relate to this and specifically with those that learned of a new race/ethnicity during this process.
